Muskingum River Parkway

The Muskingum River Parkway locks will open Saturday May 31. The locks will operate on Saturday and Sunday only until Memorial Day weekend.Normal Operating Hours after Memorial Day are: Fri. & Mon. 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, Sat. & Sun. 9:30 am to 8:00 pm, closing from 2:00 pm to 2:30 each day. Every Sunday at 2:30 pm see how the lock tenders of today lock boats through the same way as in 1841 at America's last hand-operated lock system on the Muskingum river This is a live history demonstration at all 10 lock ares from Lock #2, Devola (just north of Marietta) to Lock #11, Ellis (south of Dresden, Ohio). At Blue Rock State Park north of Marietta off of Route 60, There are 2 famiy areas that have a total of 100 sites. Enjoy Swimming, Hiking over 3 miles of trails, Naturalist Programs, Rent-a-camp, Camper, & Cabins, Special Camp Outs, Sand Volleyball Court, Boat Rentals, Hunting, Kiking, & Horseback Riding, Camp Store & Showers.
