For centuries pioneers have been discovering new adventures in Washington County. Today, adventurers explore the hills and valleys of southeast Ohio with a high-tech treasure hunt called geocaching.
The international craze known as geocaching involves the use of a GPS system to search for hidden containers, or geocaches, in some very interesting public places. Nearly anyone can participate in the game and it can be played by families, groups, or individuals. The trend has become so popular that there are an estimated 1.3 million active geocaches worldwide.
