Marietta, Washington County CVB Recognized for Marketing Excellence

The Marietta, Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau’s marketing and advertising efforts were recognized for the second time in 2005 by winning the Delegate’s Choice award this year from the Ohio Travel Association’s Ruby Award Program. Executive Director Kelly Dyar accepted the award on behalf of the bureau and its board of directors, and said “the award pays tribute to the creativity and expertise of the bureau and Stonewall Marketing Group.” Dyar said, “The CVB is fortunate to have such highly skilled and talented agency to work with locally.”

The Ruby (Recognizing Uncommon Brilliance) Awards is the Ohio Travel Association’s way of honoring those who have found the most innovative ways to market their destination or services. OTA strives to recognize outstanding artistry in the diverse field of travel and tourism marketing and advertising. On October 20, 2005 the Marietta, Washington County Convention & Visitors Bureau received the Delegate’s Choice Ruby Award for Best Marketing Campaign for the bureau’s collaborative effort with the Parkersburg CVB promoting the Mid-Ohio Valley to the group tour market. The Delegate’s Choice Award was chosen by approximately 250 delegates from Ohio’s tourism industry who attended the Ohio Travel Association’s annual Conference on Tourism at Roberts Conference Centre in Wilmington, Ohio October 19 – 21, 2005.

The bureau’s marketing programs were also honored by the Ohio Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus with two MIDDY awards in September 2005.
