Basically, JINX'D is out to have a good time. That's the bottom line, plain and simple. And while we're out having a good time we're going to play music that makes our audience have a good time. We take pride in making our performances anything but boring, always a little left of center, sometimes just shy of out of control.  JINX'D plays energetic, modern music that you know, you like, and makes you unable to resist finding your groove. There are also a few songs that we have adopted that may make you think "I didn't realize a rock band could do that." We're rock, but we're a wide range of rock. Take a look at our set list, surrounding the massive theme of rock you'll catch little glances of punk, grunge, alt, old school and even some revved up country.

Saturday 06/07 — The Steve Hussey Band www.stevehusseyband.com

The Steve Hussey Band was brought together through divine intervention in January of 2003. All 4 originial bandmembers showed up at the same open mic night, jammed, and the rest is history (except for the part where we fired the first lead guitar player for flaking on a new year's eve gig)(and the other part where the band almost broke up because of a big fat miscommunication-- but it's all good now!) We bring a breath of fresh air to the music scene because the only thing we give a damn about are good songs. Because a good song never goes out of style. We are currently in the studio to record the follow up to our thousands-selling debut "Unspoken" (2004). The yet untitled album will be released in September 2007. Have Fun. Play Music. Have Fun Playing Music. Help Others Have Fun While Playing Music. Deal With All Else As it Comes.

Tuesday 06/10 — Justin Arthur http://www.myspace.com/acousticarthur

Justin, of Radio1, playing acoustic.

Thursday 06/12 — GMFL Records

Pittsburgh Rap combines with DJ Correct – A totally new experience

Friday 06/13 —The Trainjumpers http://www.myspace.com/thetrainjumpers

West Virginia’s one and only, The Trainjumpers, create a sound that’s been described as “Appalachian soul music.” The four-piece band from Wheeling has just released its debut CD, “Deadtown.” The new recording presents the band’s exciting mix of roots music, harmonies and soulful backbeats. Cuts off the new recording are a staple of the band’s live shows, but it also adds its own flavor to traditional soul music. “We’re a real melting pot of American music,” said guitarist and songwriter Adrian Niles. “Our sound kind of draws on some of the best things in different styles of roots music, from bluegrass to reggae to the blues.” Members of The Trainjumpers have opened for a number of great artists including Buckwheat Zydeco, Bo Diddley Jr., the Allmann Brothers Band, Corey Harris, The Wailers, Vince Welnick, and Hackensaw Boys. The new recording captures a great vibe due in part to its live-in-the-studio quality. Trainjumpers music is steeped in the Mountain State – it’s rustic, ragged and runs deep.

THE NEW ALBUM IS HERE! You can purchase it online @www.digstation.com. You may also get a copy at one of our shows or @ CA HOUSE MUSIC in ST .CLAIRSVILLE. Don't forget to check us @ thetrainjumpers.com & sonicbids/thetrainjumpers.com or jambase.com.

Saturday 06/21 — The Bourbon Kings http://www.myspace.com/thebourbonkings

The Bourbon Kings have recently celebrated their one year anniversary at Miani's Bar and Grill on North High Street (which has now become Sloopy's). Thanks to the support of some kickass fans we have been able to hold it down every other Monday for a year. The Bourbon Kings have rocked out numerous campus bars and downtown nightclubs, festivals and formals extending from the crazy town of Athens to the remote hills of Kentucky, and even the mega-mall giant Target. These Bourbon Boyz have appealed to almost every gender and age group with solid set lists that provide something for everybody. No matter what the occasion The Bourbon Kings are willing and ready to rock your faces off...

Tuesday 06/24 — Colin John – MBC Unplugged http://www.colinjohnband.com/

Colin John loves playing the blues.   "It’s really honest music and it speaks from the soul and I think that’s why it connects with  people from every walk of life". An accomplished, versatile musician, John commands the stage with both his guitar prowess and passionate singing honed from years steeped in Memphis’ rich music community. His infectious, genre-defying style was described by the British music magazine Mojo as "ferociously entertaining funked - up R&B" and a reviewer in Akron’s Beacon Journal suggested John sounds like "Albert King channeling Steve Vai".

Friday 06/27 — Nathan Corsi Band  http://www.myspace.com/nathancorsiband

Here's a problem in rock math for you: If  bullet trains left  working class Liverpool, the good karma vibe of the Summer of Love, a punked up garage in Ann Arbor and a Chicago blues bar where the sound is as down and dirty-real as it gets, and slammed into each other somewhere in Akron … what would it equal? If you've heard that explosion then you know the answer is the Indie Power Blues of the  Nathan Corsi Band
YOU WANT IT  The sound that escapes like a caged animal from Nathan's amp is the piercing cry of the banshee and the low yearning sounds of the black cat moan.  It can peel paint from the walls, touch the soul of a wrong-doin' lover and almost raise the dead…or at least get thirsty college age clubbers to settle in next to the classic rockers of yore for a night they'll both remember.

Saturday 06/28 — Bob Dellaposta -- Band of Brothers www.bobdellaposta.com

Dellaposta has come a long way since his days of playing the Bellevue Canteen and the streets of New York.  For many years, he has been a familiar entertainer in local clubs and Nashville nightspots singing what he calls blues based music with some rock-n-roll influenced by his favorite artists, the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Grand Funk Railroad and Deep Purple.

Dellaposta describes his stage presence as “like the armpit of a runner just crossing the finish line…hairy, sweaty and does not go unnoticed.”  Audiences who come to see him perform would agree.  This cigar-puffing man with shaggy eyebrows, a full beard and a bowler hat is hard to miss and impossible to ignore.  He can be seen at the Canal Street Tavern in Dayton, Grand Exchange in Middletown, Branzenhead Irish Pub in Mason, Dark Horse Tavern in Centerville, Trolley Stop and Nite Owl in the Oregon District and Walnut Hills in Dayton.  For a complete schedule of his appearances, visit his website at.  “We do a lot of performances at the Canal Street Tavern,” says Dellaposta.  “I’ve been working for its owner, Mick Montgomery, since the early days of the Doug and Tom Band.”  Each performance is filled with the acoustic blues and classic rock he loves most because, he says, “It’s alive with the same spirit and energy as rock-n-roll. Ain’t nothin’ but a good man feelin’ bad.”
